Based near the ancient city of York, where every street carries echoes of centuries past, we take inspiration from the place where history and imagination meet. From forgotten legends and weathered castles to fantasy novels, tabletop adventures and epic journeys, we believe stories have always brought people together.

DISCOVERING MEAD

Our journey with mead began at historical re-enactment events, where we discovered a drink with centuries of history that deserved a place in the modern day.

That passion led members of our brewing team to develop a range of multi-award-winning meads during their careers in the industry, bringing years of craftsmanship and experience to every bottle of Storymaker Mead.

Backed by Jason Kingsley CBE

British entrepreneur, historian, and author. As the co-founder and CEO of Rebellion, one of the UK's largest independent games companies, he has spent decades building worlds inspired by fiction, history and mythology. 

Away from the office, he is an accomplished horseman, training his Stallions in medieval combat. He has a lifelong passion for the Middle Ages, often recreating medieval life, horsemanship, and combat, food, drink and living through his popular Modern History TV YouTube channel. 

His enthusiasm for traditional crafts, the landscape, rural life, and historical adventures, makes mead, a drink with deep roots in Britain's past, a natural fit with his interests.
